Public Sector Brief: Residents check rubbish website

SLOUGH/DERBYSHIRE: Slough Borough Council and Derbyshire County Council scooped first prize - the Kevin Galloway Award for Innovation - at LGCommunications' annual conference in Liverpool last week. Presented by Grant Riches Communications senior consultant Lisa Dimbylow, the award was given to Derbyshire for its 'Quids-in' welfare rights campaign, and to Slough for its 'Keep it tidy' campaign.NORTH-WEST: The Northwest Regional Development Agency has teamed up with regeneration body The Merseyside Basin Campaign to host the Northwest Business Environment Awards. Community leaders and decision makers will be at the event, which coincides with the United Nation's World Environment Day. The 5 June awards recognise the best of the region's environmental technologies, and take place at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester.HARINGEY: Residents in Haringey can find out when their rubbish will be collected via the council's website. Once a street name is entered into a search field, the postcode and collection day is displayed.
