A promising year for consultants

The vast majority of the UK's top PR consultancies enjoyed growth in fee income last year, suggesting a substantial upturn in the sector, according to PRWeek's annual Top 150 survey published this week.

The top three agencies in the rankings - Bell Pottinger/Good Relations, Citigate and Edelman - remain unchanged on the 2004 table. However, all three grew their fee income last year, whereas they all lost revenue in 2003.

Bell Pottinger/Good Relations increased fee income by nine per cent to £37.4m.

Lord Bell, chairman of Chime Communications, which owns BP/GR, said: 'Now that the market has recovered it will be interesting to see how growth impacts on the Top 150 table over the next few years.'
