The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is preparing for its second 'Big Bounce' event as part of its forthcoming annual awareness week. The event is set to take place on 22 April at London's Docklands and will be launched by former athlete Roger Black. Actress Jenny Agutter and charity patron Dr David Bull will also attend.

TV celebrities Richard and Judy are fronting the campaign as 'faces of Cystic Fibrosis Week' - the duo were inspired to get involved by Nicky West, who died last year.

Direct mail endorsed by the couple has already been sent to 125,000 homes as the Cystic Fibrosis Trust bids to win new support.

Meanwhile, travel writer Bill Bryson and chef John Burton Race will cheer on participants in this Sunday's Tresco Marathon in the Isles of Scilly.

The race, an alternative to the London Marathon, is run in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, with each runner pledging to raise at least £300.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is using retained PR agency IncrediBull Ideas to promote the week.

The agency is using case studies of people with cystic fibrosis who have achieved against the odds to target the media. Other PR and fundraising activity includes parachute jumps and coffee mornings.

In addition, a cystic fibrosis T-shirt was due to go on sale in Asda this week.
