City & Corporate: Oil firm Sterling brings in CDR

Oil and gas company Sterling Energy has dropped First City Financial Public Relations and hired Citigate Dewe Rogerson as its retained financial communications agency.

The move comes three years after First City was brought in to handle financial comms around Sterling's AIM listing. CDR director Martin Jackson is leading the account.

Founded and listed in October 2002, Sterling produces oil from fields in the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa and the Philippines.

Last month, Sterling signed a deal with Markmore Energy to farm out operation of a licence to drill for oil off Senegal.
