Public Sector: Lamb - 'I have done nothing wrong'

Carol Lamb, whom it has emerged resigned her role as Knowlsey Borough Council head of comms after intimate pictures of herself and her husband were found on her office laptop, has told PRWeek: 'I have done nothing wrong.'

Lamb resigned from her position at the Merseyside council on 7 March after the pictures were found by colleagues while she holidayed in the Middle East.

Lamb then took up an interim post at Bedfordshire County Council but was forced to leave after one day when the Liverpool Daily Post revealed the story behind her exit. The council said it did not want its PR manager to be the news agenda.

Lamb told PRWeek: 'These pictures were private and were seen by my manager (at Knowlsey). I resigned out of embarrassment, but I have done nothing wrong and I want to continue working. I just want to get on with my career.'

Knowlsey corporate communications manager Gail Sweet and service comms manager Phillipa Cook have taken on Lamb's responsibilities.

They added that the head of communications position will be reviewed in the autumn.
