Media Relations: Mojo reaches out to younger fans

Emap is looking to dispel music magazine Mojo's reputation as a champion of 'yesterday's music' by expanding its Honours List awards.

A concert in May featuring old and new bands will be targeted at a broad range of media to promote the June awards event.

'Mojo has a natural fit with the broadsheets and Radio 2 but there are artists that will appeal to the tabloids as well,' said Emap Performance head of press and PR Maureen Corish. 'Mojo's not about pipes and slippers.

It covers the whole spectrum of music.'

Roy Harper, Elbow, Teenage Fanclub and The Magic Numbers will play at the concert. Media relations and ticket promotions are handled by Ocean Media.
