Voluntary Sector: Edinburgh arts attracts buyers

The Edinburgh Art Festival, set up last year by the city's galleries to promote visual arts during the Edinburgh Festival, is attempting to raise its profile.

Colman Getty has been called in by the not-for-profit organisation to publicise the range of exhibitions that can be viewed.

The agency will attempt to attract art buyers and artists to the Scottish capital and to ensure that festival visitors perceive art to be a central element of Edinburgh's status as a cosmopolitan city.

It will ask actors, musicians, TV stars, writers and comedians taking part in the Edinburgh Festival to review art shows for national and Scottish media.
