Public Sector: Lib Dems bolster Torbay PR team

Torbay District Council is on the hunt for a communications manager and a third communications officer.

The move follows a £30,000 boost to the comms budget from Liberal Democrat leader Chris Harris in March, after a January review found that improved PR could boost below-average customer satisfaction scores.

The comms manager will report to head of comms Lorna Shearman and will manage the press office and supervise design and editorial content on internal and external publications.

Former comms manager Bernie Lye retired at the end of January. The council aims to fill both posts by June.
