Public Sector: Firms face new reservist rules

Ministry of Defence-funded group Supporting Britain's Reservists and Employers (SaBRE) kicks off a campaign this week to communicate widespread changes to the way firms are compensated when reservist staff are mobilised.

From 14 April new rules come into force to allow those that employ reservists, including territorial army personnel, to claim back costs. These include agency fees, overtime payments and costs of advertising, under one award for the first time.

The aim is to show employers how this makes claiming compensation less complex.

The campaign will be run by Fishburn Hedges, which has handled SaBRE's PR since 2002 and was reappointed this week.
