Healthcare: Guerin exits B-M to take CCA post

Burson-Marsteller senior associate Liz Guerin has left to join healthcare specialist shop Chandler Chicco Agency (CCA).

Guerin joins after almost three years at B-M, where she promoted brands such as Sanofi-Aventis's Plavix. Prior to B-M she worked at Greenlines Healthcare Communications.

CCA has also hired Shire Health International (SHI) senior project manager Patrick Ward, while Claire Martin, who has formerly worked at B-M and Munro & Forster Communications, joins from Porter Novelli.

Claire Montell, formerly a freelance for eight years, has also joined CCA on a permanent contract.

The raft of appointments follows account wins this year that include a global contract to promote pre-launch smoking-cessation product varenicline for Pfizer (PRWeek, 18 February) and a contract to promote colorectal cancer treatment Erbitux for Merck KGaA (PRWeek, 11 February).

CCA now has 41 staff, ten more than 12 months ago. Other clients include UCB, AstraZeneca, Novartis and Merck Sharp & Dohme.

The agency's growth has also led to the creation of the post of HR manager; this has been filled by Samantha Leaning, who, like Martin, formerly worked at Porter Novelli.
