Diary: Moxham miffed by offer from Manila

PR is the latest industry being invited to reap the rewards of shifting work to developing nations.

Manila-based RPA & Communicate has been contacting UK PR shops with the promise that outsourcing to the Philippines can 'dramatically decrease your overhead expenses and lessen your employees'.

So, the writing's sharp but will UK firms be tempted? 'Absolutely, as work in the PR industry is becoming more like call centres,' is the sarcastic response of 3 Monkeys Communications founder Angie Moxham, who says RPA is touting prices such as £157 for a press release to £22,000 for one year's service.

'I won't be considering it,' adds Moxham, 'but I wouldn't mind a field trip to check out the quality of their staff. Perhaps they'll pay for it.'

Answers on a (Manila) envelope, we assume.
