Public Sector Brief: Welsh councils told to prioritise

RECYCLING: Welsh councils have been told to prioritise improving public attitudes to recycling if they are to meet their 2010 targets, the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) said this week. Councils are making progress, but need to win over 'hearts and minds' of the Welsh public to achieve the UK's 2010 recycling targets of 40 per cent of all household rubbish, the WLGA added. The call for action was made following a report on recycling published by the Audit Commission in Wales.
