Public Affairs: Corallo abandons DoJ for start-up

WASHINGTON: US Department of Justice (DoJ) director of public affairs Mark Corallo has left to launch Corallo Media Strategies (CMS), a PA shop focusing on national security matters and federal litigation.

Tasia Scolinos, a former deputy assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security, has replaced Corallo at the DoJ.

Corallo cited the demands of the position and the departure of attorney-general John Ashcroft as the reasons behind his move.

CMS's first clients are the Recording Industry Association of America and the Motion Picture Association of America, which are currently fighting internet file-sharing service Grokster.
