The B-M corporate and public affairs director is expected to join on 1 May after serving out a notice period. His recruitment increases Upstream's board to three directors, including managing director Steve John and deputy MD Suzy Awford.
Digger is to join Upstream just months after the January merger of European law firm DLA with US-based Piper Rudnick and Gray Cary. The deal created the world's second-largest legal services firm by fee income, adding Piper Rudnick's 120-strong lobbying firm to Upstream's 25 lobbyists in London, Edinburgh and Brussels. Gray Cary also added lobbyists, mainly based in California.
John said: 'US corporates have European subsidiaries affected by European and UK legislation. This is an opportunity to brief Piper Rudnick's clients on those legal threats.'
Digger has ten years' experience in the industry and has been at B-M for three years, handling political and regulatory comms for Thames Water and international media relations for the US treasury.
He specialises in political and regulatory affairs.
