Healthcare: Haygarth takes LifeScan monitor on the road

LifeScan UK, a Johnson & Johnson company, has called in Haygarth to promote its blood-glucose monitoring systems and software products for people with diabetes.

The agency is handling media relations and in-store activities for LifeScan's OneTouch Ultra and OneTouch UltraSmart; the products are rivals to brands including Roche Diagnostics' Accu-Chek.

LifeScan is planning a 'roadshow' for major UK retail outlets, with staff and healthcare professionals handing out leaflets and advice.

Diabetes Week in June will also be a focus of PR activity.

Haygarth won a pitch against TC Communications and Cascaid, which handles direct marketing and advertising for LifeScan. LifeScan formerly worked with Barlow Firth Communications.

The agency reports to LifeScan UK retail and consumer marketing manager Versha Patel.
