Via News won out in a pitch involving three other local agencies; Gad, SPMJ and EPR. Incumbent Planin, which held the account since 2003 did not repitch.
Prior to Planin Via News held the Cyclades account for seven years, according to partner director of Via Pedro Cadina.
Cyclades is repositioning itself in the Brazilian market, following a pattern in other territories where it is leaving the router market to focus on becoming an out-of-band infrastructure provider.
Via News will handle media relations, as well as content for the Portugese language edition of Cyclades' corporate publication, 'Free Talk'.
Adriana Athayede will manage a team of three staff on the account, reporting to Vera Azevedo, marketing communications supervisor at Cyclades Brasil.
Cyclades Brasil comprises an office, a R&D Centre and a plant in Sao Paulo. It works with companies in the telephone, utilities and banking sectors.
