Foreign investor CDC hunts PR firm

CDC, the government body that provides funding for projects in the third world, is in talks with PR agencies as it bids to raise its profile in the financial press.

Corporate relations director Innes Meek said CDC is seeking to explain that a restructure of last year means it no longer has direct contact with recipient companies and wants to hear proposals from fund managers.

In November 2004, CDC – formerly the Commonwealth Development Corporation – had £1bn invested in about 250 businesses, with a target of 70 per cent going to nations with per capita

income of less than £944.
