ACE European to raise UK profile

Insurance underwriter ACE European Group is on the verge of hiring its first PR agency in order to boost its profile in national newspapers.

The ACE brand is well known among brokers and risk managers, said the company’s comms director Miles Russell, but using the national press would allow it to reach board directors with responsibility for purchasing insurance.

ACE will choose between Ketchum, Hill & Knowlton and Gavin Anderson, which have all pitched for the six-figure account.

‘Rivals such as Aviva and Zurich also operate in the consumer market, so we have to work harder to raise our profile,’ said Russell. ‘We’re a business with a £4bn income now, so we should be doing more to establish ACE as an industry leader and promote its role on the big issues in insurance.’
