Relate lobbyist Silver walks out

Relate’s top lobbyist Victoria Silver has quit the relationship counselling charity after just five months over what is understood to have been a disagreement over the scope of her role.

Silver was brought on board as media and PA officer last August with a brief to lobby the Government to introduce measures to improve family life.

These included calls for co-habiting partners to be given the same financial

entitlements as married couples and for organisations to be encouraged to introduce more family friendly working hours.

Silver, who left the charity last week, is to spend the next few months assisting a small number of Labour MPs to get re-elected at the forthcoming general election.
