RFL hires PA Sport for stats service

The Rugby Football League (RFL) has struck a deal with PA Sport to provide official statistics for Super League and home internationals as it bids to boost coverage of the sport.

RFL media manager Andrew Whitelam said the data partnership would improve and increase coverage by assisting media understanding of the game’s subtleties and highlighting player performances.

With the tenth season of Super League kicking off on 11 February, PA Sport will deliver match and player statistics, such as the number of tackles and scrums.

‘The game lends itself to this type of statistical analysis,’ said Whitelam.
