South-East plans for rejuvenation

The South East Regional Assembly is to encourage its three million residents to respond to its 20-year infrastructure plan.

Residents are being sent questionnaires on proposals to develop the area’s housing and economy.

A draft plan on housing, transport, energy, waste and health was published this week and there will be a 12-week consultation period.

The campaign will include radio and press advertising, media relations and eight roadshows travelling to community centres around the region, which stretches from Oxfordshire and Kent to Hampshire.

The region’s 74 local authorities will also be managing their own roadshows.
