Home-Start hires journalist O’Brian

Family charity Home-Start has snapped up BBC Radio Leicester journalist Annie O’Brian for its top communications post of press and PR manager.

O’Brian takes on the role next month as the organisation prepares a campaign to recruit volunteer trustees.

The charity, which provides childcare aid for parents suffering difficulties such as depression or disability, wants to attract parents with business and IT skills who can help it expand across the UK.

The charity wants to raise its profile with national and regional media in a bid to reach out to volunteers, potential donors and families.

O’Brian will have responsibility for external comms, reporting to Home-Start director of fundraising and comms Vivien Waterfield.
