Notting Hill Housing Group loses eight of nine PROs

The Notting Hill Housing Group, one of the UK’s biggest, has lost eight of its nine-strong comms team following criticism from the Housing Corporation that its services are too costly.

Four PROs have been made redundant, including marcoms manager Emma Croxall and internal comms manager Emma Dedier.

Two other PROs decided to leave the organisation, while two PROs have moved internally.

Only the marketing administration assistant of the original comms team remains, but the group is on the hunt to appoint a comms manager and officer and a web and intranet editor. It also wants to bring in a marketing executive, responsible for sales, into its comms team for the first time.

Nicole Moody has been brought on board as acting comms manager.

‘The audit found we were a lot more expensive than other organisations of a similar size and so we decided we needed to take costs out of our back-room functions,’ said Notting Hill Housing Group corporate services director Jane Hiditch.

The restructure signals an effort to turn around the image of the organisation in the housing trade press following further criticism from the Housing Corporation about its customer and repair service response times.
