CCA enters Korea with Macoll deal

SEOUL: Healthcare specialist Chandler Chicco Agency (CCA) has formed a ‘strategic alliance’ with a Korean PR firm, Macoll, in a move to profit from a ‘very quickly evolving’ Asian healthcare PR market.

Macoll, the largest healthcare PR firm in Korea, has clients such as Novartis, Pfizer and AstraZeneca and 35 staff.

New York-headquartered CCA plans to unveil further alliances in Asia later this year, and is considering ventures in countries including China and Australia.

CCA co-founder Robert Chandler said in a statement: ‘The healthcare market in Asia, from a PR perspective, is evolving very quickly.’

Meanwhile, CCA has acquired Ignition Strategic Communications, a Washington-based public affairs outfit.

CCA opened its own Washington office last April (PRWeek, 16 April 2004); the acquisition triples the number of CCA staff in the US capital to 12.
