Tate & Lyle acts on obesity rise

Tate & Lyle, the sugar and sweetener producer, has begun a PR offensive to convince its corporate customers that it can adapt its products in the face of the obesity epidemic.

Tate & Lyle director of corporate relations Chris Fox said the firm had expanded the brief of its corporate adviser of six years, Financial Dynamics, to include Tate & Lyle’s first B2B brief.

‘We’re going to be much more up-front in explaining to customers what we can offer to show we are also under pressure to innovate and develop new products, and be more customer focused,’ Fox told PRWeek.

In addition to promoting Tate & Lyle traditional products, Fox said the company would also show how its own third-party research has led it to develop new lines.
