The chain, which last month unveiled Pizza Bianca, made from béchamel sauce instead of tomato, is seeking to better flag up ongoing changes to its menu.
Ketchum London CEO David Gallagher said promoting the 40th anniversary of the chain this spring was also likely to be an immediate PR priority but stressed that a promotional programme and budget had yet to be confirmed.
Pizza Express is, like its high-street rivals, coming under increasing pressure to better communicate its commitment to nutritional issues. It is understood that Ketchum is likely to advise the chain on its PR strategy in
relation to nutrition, while handling some community relations.
Ketchum replaces QBO Bell Pottinger, which handled the account for six years.
