Cavendish hires waste expert

Cavendish Communications has hired Nick Wellington, the former private secretary to former Trade and Industry Secretary Stephen Byers, as a director.

Wellington will be charged with bolstering the agency’s credentials in waste management – he joins from the UK’s biggest waste management firm Shanks Waste, where he was director of comms.

Prior to that he was a senior consultant at Lexington Communications.

Cavendish’s clients include John Lewis Partnership and a number of property firms including Wates Homes and The Bedford Estates.

Cavendish was set up in June 2003 by MD Alex Challenor, who has previously headed public affairs at Golin Harris.
