ALG searches for temp media boss

Trade body the Association of London Government (ALG) is on the hunt for a head of media and public affairs as it prepares to step up lobbying in the run-up to the general election.

Current head of media and public affairs Neetinder Boparai is leaving to take a year’s career break and will return to her post after this time. The position is charged with a four-strong team.

The new recruit will report to director of communications and PA Ceri Edwards who joined in September (PRWeek, 20 August 2004).

The ALG represents all 33 London boroughs and lobbies on behalf of London residents and councils on issues such as transport.

Edwards said: ‘All three political parties have put public services at the heart of their manifestos so it will be the ideal time to lobby for more resources.
