PfS, a non-departmental public body, is supporting the Department for Education and Skills on its multi-billion-pound investment scheme. BSF proposes to rebuild or modernise every UK secondary school over the next 15 years.
PfS will help select areas for investment by prioritising schools with low attainment or those in areas of high deprivation. It will also help create public-private partnerships to help pay for the scheme.
During their three-year contracts, K&R and Geronimo will be used by PfS and by individual local education authorities.
The new schools are expected to offer upgraded IT facilities. The first phase of BSF will rebuild or modernise 200 schools across the country this year and through 2006.
