Aero Club targets computer fans

The Royal Aero Club Trust (RACT), a charity that promotes UK air sport and aviation, is trying to raise its profile with a PR campaign aimed at computer game enthusiasts.

The trust is looking to hire a PRO on a part-time, pro bono basis, to take charge of its PR strategy as it attempts to encourage more young people to take up flying.

‘We want to raise awareness about our flying bursaries and turn couch potatoes into young eagles,’ said chairman Fred Marsh.

The charity is also on the hunt for sponsors to help conserve its collection of flying memorabilia, which dates back to the first hot-air balloon flights in 1784, so it can put the items on display to the public.
