Conference Board Europe drive for FH

The Conference Board, the not-for-profit corporate research group, has drafted in its first PR agency in a bid to expand its membership in Europe.

The group, which puts together the US government’s Consumer Confidence Index, has hired Fishburn Hedges to front a two-pronged PR campaign, to take place in the UK and on the Continent.

Fishburn Hedges head of corporate responsibility Martin Le Jeune is leading the account and is briefed to bring the group’s profile up to the same standard it has in the US.

Le Jeune is also charged with boosting The Conference Board’s profile with stakeholders and members who are typically board members from human resource and comms director level upwards. The Conference Board reports to its members on research in areas such as corporate governance, CSR, economics and HR.

Although Le Jeune reports to The Conference Board V-P and managing executive Barbara Reno, the appointment is at the behest of Reuters chairman Nial Fitzgerald, who took over the chair of the group from Lord Marshall last year.
