Dare, who has been lastminute corporate communications manager for the past four years, has quit to manage press access to Leighton.
A former chief executive of Asda, Leighton announced he was was stepping down from lastminute in October after four years in the role. He also quit posts on the boards of several other firms including consumer electronics firm Dyson. He remains chairman of Royal Mail.
Lastminute.com has promoted Holiday Autos PR manager Claire Williams in the expanded role of head of corporate comms, taking on Dare’s responsibilities.
In addition to corporate and financial PR, Williams will take on consumer PR responsibilities, which were previously the sole responsibility of UK marketing director Mathew Hart.
She reports to lastminute IR director Phil Clark, who joined the company last November.
Williams said lastminute’s retained agencies, Freud Communications and The Maitland Consultancy would ‘currently continue as normal’ but that she would hire an agency to help with PR for Holiday Autos, and other lastminute brands Med Hotels and holidayandmore.com.
