PRCA creates procurement guides

The Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) is to publish two guides on public-sector procurement to help the increasing number of agencies tendering for public-sector accounts, as well as the managers who oversee pitches.

The first guide, which comes out later this month, is designed for public sector procurement managers and will provide information on how consultancies operate.

The second guide, to be published in March, will target agencies with advice on how to apply for business from the public sector.

PRCA comms director Martin Cairns said: ‘We have got two groups that have not had much in common until recently so we are helping to clarify what the procedure is.’

The COI ended one of Whitehall’s biggest PR procurement processes when it reviewed its roster last year, attracting 172 applications for a 31-strong list (PRWeek, 19 November 2004).
