Powerscourt appoints CDR’s Brough as director

Powerscourt has poached Citigate Dewe Rogerson director of small and medium-cap specialist practice Victoria Brough.

Brough, who joined CDR two years ago from investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein is to start at Powerscourt next month as a director.

Prior to joining DKW’s emerging markets corporate finance department, Brough spent two years as an analyst at financial services group Singer & Friedlander.

Brough’s main client at CDR was baggage-handling and newspaper and magazine distribution firm John Menzies, though she also worked on the stock market listing of online betting company BetOnSports and advised Shore Capital on its acquisition of the Paramount Hotel Group from Alchemy.

Brough was part of the team that advised AngloGold on its acquisition of Ashanti Goldfields.

Powerscourt has also hired former Cazenove corporate finance partner Simon Dettmer as associate director.

Dettmer worked at Cazenove for ten years before joining Telewest as executive director, where he worked with Powerscourt co-founder John Murray.
