Red Door pitched against two agencies to land its contract, while The Red Consultancy pitched against three firms. Neither agency has previously worked for firm.
Schering formerly worked with just one agency, Shire Health London, which declined to repitch (PRWeek, 15 October 2004).
Red Door is to devote a six-strong account team to a PR and medical education campaign focused on promoting Nebido, a treatment for testosterone deficiency that it expects to launch later this year, to medics.
‘We’re keen to strengthen our profile and the understanding of all our primary care products with this key audience,’ said Schering comms manager Sophie Binks.
The Red Consultancy, meanwhile, is aiming to boost the profile of Schering’s Mirena and Yasmin contraceptives in a consumer-focused PR assault.
The agency is handling consumer media relations and what board director Lisa Taylor described as ‘face-to-face’ consumer targeting.
