VisitLondon bids to lure Japanese

VisitLondon has launched a campaign to woo young, single Japanese women to London.

The capital’s promotional body is using the charm offensive to try to boost the number of working female Japanese tourists aged 20 to 40, because they are the capital’s highest-spending visitor group, according to VisitLondon long-haul PR manager Zoë Shurgold.

The body is particularly aiming to attract Japanese visitors during ‘Golden Week’ in May, when a number of the country’s national holidays coincide.

In addition, VisitLondon will this month take over three cafés in Tokyo, decorating their interiors and exteriors with the capital’s landmarks.
