The agency won a three-way pitch to promote the event, which takes place in September and will see pop acts, guest presenters – and, the organisers hope, the great and good of football – gather to celebrate the world’s best 11.
Celador International, which is marketing and licensing commercial rights for the awards, has appointed Taylor Herring to handle international PR.
The agency will handle PR at the event, and will also liaise with international TV partners and sponsors.
Organisers hope up to 1,500 guests from music and fashion, in addition to football, will attend the event, which it hopes to broadcast in more than 20 countries.
Fifpro (Federation Internationale des Associations de Footballeurs Professionnels) represents 40 national associations and 38,000 players; members include England’s Professional Footballers’ Association.
