BowLeven hires Maitland for float

African oil and gas exploration group BowLeven has hired The Maitland Consultancy to spearhead a financial comms push around the firm’s flotation on AIM.

Maitland managing partner Neil Bennett is advising the company, which has operated in Cameroon since 1999 and controls three oil and gas exploration blocks off the country’s coast.

BowLeven is set to float on AIM later this month and is expected to be valued at £77m. It wants to use the money to pay for further testing and exploration as well as for working capital for a gas-burning power station, which is expected to produce 150MW by the end of 2006.
