PN will undertake corporate and financial communications aimed at boosting LSB’s profile as a champion producer of PET.
‘LSB is the only big quoted PET producer in Europe and we want to increase its profile and visibility in this industrial’ niche, said Josep Maria Cortes, who heads the LSB account and PN’s Barcelona office. ‘We will inform about future company actions and help the company find industrial partners,’ he added.
PN will also handle events as part of the one year brief.
PN director Juan Valdivia and assistant Rocio Lopez will oversee financial and stock-market PR for LSB in Madrid. Three people will handle the rest of the account from Barcelona, led by Cortes and his right hand Cristina Vall-Llosada. The team will work closely with LSB’s external relations boss Ana Moros, and report to the company’s Chairman Rafael Espanol.
For LSB, PET means business. The company plans to expand its Pratt de Llobregat, Barcelona, factories and/or make acquisitions to grow in PET. It has invested millions to undertake a major restructuring to grow in in the environmentally-friendly and versatile thermoplastic, technically named polyethylene terephthalate.
With annual growth rates of 10%, PET is gaining favour as a material to make receptables for beverages (mostly juices, milk and beer), drugs, cosmetics, and materials for automobile components.
LSB has a market cap of €81.6 million and sales of €220 million.
