Alzheimer’s care PR task for K&R

The Alzheimer’s Society is using Kinross & Render and its newly launched division ECCO Healthcare to ‘persuade the Government to end discrimination against people with dementia’.

The agency, working on a pro bono basis, is advising on the charity’s ongoing campaign for the Government to treat dementia in ‘the same way as it does other medical conditions when it comes to long-term care’.

While people with other major diseases receive free personal care on the NHS, dementia patients do not.

K&R chief executive Sara Render said: ‘We will be looking to make this an election issue.’ PR work is also being planned around Alzheimer’s Awareness Week in July 2005.

K&R launched ECCO Healthcare last month , headed by Eric Hansen, who formerly worked for Novartis (PRWeek, 1 October).
