DLA Upstream eyes global offer

DLA Upstream, the lobbying wing of law firm DLA, is on the verge of providing an international public affairs network as its parent company prepares to merge with US law firm Piper Rudnick.

A formal vote among company partners on 4 December is expected to support the trans-Atlantic tie-up. Piper Rudnick has a Washington PA practice with 20 advisers.

Piper Rudnick co-chairman Senator George Mitchell, who was instrumental in brokering the Northern Ireland peace agreement, is expected to take the role of chairman in the merged entity.
