Regulation top of IR event agenda

IR and financial comms professionals are to discuss the impact of wide-ranging European regulatory changes at a joint Confederation of British Industry (CBI)/Real IR magazine conference in the new year.

‘Europe’s new regulatory environment: what it means for investor relations’ is to take place at the CBI’s Centre Point headquarters on

20 January.

Delegates will discuss the impact of the International Accounting Standards Board’s planned changes to International Financial Reporting Standards, which all quoted companies follow when communicating results and trading statements to the market and the media.

Accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has found that three quarters of European companies are unprepared for these changes.

The summit will also discuss European Union legislation affecting financial reporting including the Market Abuse Directive, Transparency Directive, Prospectus Directive and Corporate Governance Action Plan.
