Byrne takes top Egg brand role

Online bank Egg has promoted Emma Byrne to its top marketing post after the departure of chief marketing officer Nick Cross.

Byrne takes on the newly created role of chief brand and comms officer with the company’s marketing and comms units coming under one head for the first time.

Previously group corporate comms director, in her new role Byrne oversees an annual brand and marketing spend of more than £40m.

Egg maintains an in-house PR team of five staff, including Byrne – who also handles City PR – and does not retain PR agencies.
