The group has promoted internal comms director and former Whitbread Hotel Company comms director Anna Glover (née Relf) to the new post of comms director in anticipation of the departure of corporate affairs director David Reed, who is retiring at the end of the year.
Glover told PRWeek she would concentrate on promoting the profile of Parker, who last week announced a nine-point business review – including a £30m cost-cutting programme.
Reed’s IR responsibilities are to be absorbed by group finance director David Richardson, while PA director Mark Kerr will report to the legal department and company secretariat.
Glover said she would be reviewing all comms in the coming months.
Whitbread group’s main retained agencies are Tulchan Communications, which has handled financial comms for the past two years, and Citigate Dewe Rogerson, which was appointed in April to handle corporate reputation work (PRWeek, 20 April).
