NU’s Acworth moves to HGI

Henderson Global Investors (HGI) has rejigged its comms department following the listing of its parent group HHG on the London Stock Exchange.

The investment manager has poached Norwich Union public affairs manager Richard Acworth for the new role of head of corporate communications.

HGI director of corporate affairs Vicki Staveacre said Acworth would be responsible for media relations and corporate communications across the whole of HGI and HHG plc, the insurance parent company spun off from Australian insurance group AMP at the end of last year.

Acworth’s appointment brings Staveacre’s comms team to three PROs and a coordinator. The HGI team has traditionally handled communications for HGI’s operations in Europe, Asia and North America but Acworth will now handle financial calendar work for HHG as well.

Last month Henderson entered the Spanish funds market through the local registration of its Horizon Fund range of 15 sub-funds, which are designed to provide a spread of equity and bond vehicles with various risk levels.
