Barclays internal chief leaves post

Barclays is on the hunt for a director of internal comms following Emma Savage’s departure to take a career break after 15 years with the banking giant.

During her two years in the role, Savage was responsible for a team of 20 staff worldwide, charged with communicating to Barclays’ 77,000 employees.

Barclays comms director Leigh Bruce, to whom the post reports, said: ‘The role is a critical part of executing strategy and making sure people are committed to it. We are growing through acquisitions so there is going to be an even bigger challenge for our internal communications arm in the future.’

The director of internal comms sits within the central communications executive department.
