Media training firm hires Hick

Media training specialist Broadcast Media Services (BMS) has hired enigmatic former England cricketer Graeme Hick to teach clients how to handle media scrutiny.

Few sportsmen have attracted as much praise and criticism from the media as Hick, who arrived as the great hope of the English cricketing scene in 1991.

He will complement BMS courses until April 2005, when the cricket season resumes.

BMS director Andrew Ogden said Hick’s experience is relevant to the firm’s FTSE 250 and health sector clients because he has shown the ‘ability to continue to perform while getting a hard time from certain sections of the media’.

‘Hick has been the subject of both media adulation and savage attack but he has emerged with his reputation intact.’
