The charity is holding an exhibition to dispel some of the myths and stereotypes associated with drug use by contrasting photos of celebrity drug users with photos of socially deprived drug dealers and addicts.
‘Drug users who have got money and fame are treated differently from drug users living in poverty,’ said Drugscope press officer Petra Maxwell. ‘This exhibition aims to demonstrate the grit behind the apparent glamour of drug abuse.’
Photographs of both socially deprived and celebrity drug addicts will be placed next to accounts of how drug misuse has wrecked people’s lives . The photos will then be auctioned to raise money for the charity.
