CDR hires Mirror man to associate director post

Citigate Dewe Rogerson has lured Daily Mirror deputy City and business editor Kevan Reilly to join its corporate division as an associate director.

Reilly joins CDR on 30 November after ten years at the Mirror and will report to MD Jonathan Flint. The move will bring the total number of associate directors at the firm’s London office to 13, split across the agency’s corporate and financial teams.

‘Kevan will be working on a whole new suite of client accounts, to be decided,’ said Flint, adding that Reilly’s key responsibilities will be media relations, internal training and producing editorial content.

‘An associate director is a relatively senior position, and he will have a lot of people beneath him, but whether he will be leading a team will depend on his individual interests and skills,’ Flint added. ‘If he wants people-management duties, he will get them.’

The corporate team, which handles consumer finance and B2B clients, is also looking to fill another four new posts with titles to be decided. ‘We have certainly seen an upswing in business, and we have to meet that demand,’ said Flint.

Reilly joined the Mirror in 1995 as a news reporter from The Press Association. The paper has yet to begin the process of recruiting for his replacement.
