Baker & McKenzie in UK comms rejig

International law firm Baker & McKenzie is in the midst of a shake-up of its UK communications.

Baker & McKenzie director of marketing, business development and PR Beverly Landais said the firm was ‘restructuring’ its communications in the City but declined to comment further.

Although Landais would not say how many people worked in the firm’s press office, it is thought that it has around five PROs in London.

It is also thought that the review is confined to Baker & McKenzie’s UK team and will not affect chief global press officer Judith Green, who is based in London but heads the company’s global press operations.

Baker & McKenzie is one of the world’s most well-known law firms and has 66 offices in 36 countries. It is primarily a corporate law operation with 11 practice areas ranging from antitrust and trade to tax law.

In 2002, Baker & McKenzie made more than £589m from its worldwide practice.
